When GREAT Composers let their hair down! Two delightful pieces on the lighter side! Telemann’s 1725 Comic Intermezzo Pimpinone and Bach’s witty and charming Coffee Cantata Schweigt stille, plaudert nicht, BWV 211 which is actually a mini comic opera!Join us for a spectacular and very funny afternoon of music! We will present a semi-staged version of Telemann’s delightful Pimpinone, (The full title is Die Ungleiche Heirat zwischen Vespetta und Pimpinone oder Das herrsch-süchtige Camer Mägden or The Unequal Marriage Between Vespetta and Pimpinone or The Domineering Chambermaid) T.W.V. 21:15 which will be sung in English! Young chamber maid and new Handel artist, Soprano Alexandra Olsavsky will try to woo old and gullible Baritone Noah Gartner, a Handel Week stalwart, with a delightful surprise outcome! Staged by Cathy Dunn and conducted by our Assistant Artistic Director Henry Griffin, you will be charmed! For the second half of the program we will present Bach’s witty and beautiful cantata on the joys of Coffee! Join veteran Handel Soprano Amy Conn and introducing Tenor Evan Katsefes under the baton of Artistic Director and founder, Dennis E. Northway. An UNFORGETTABLE afternoon awaits!
