Handel Week Festival

From the Artistic Director

Warmest of WELCOMES to the Handel Week Family! We, the artists, board, volunteers and listeners here at Handel Week prize Baroque masterpieces of music and especially the music of Handel. We present world-class readings of music in an opulent acoustic, all in a room with tremendous sight lines! We surround these in-person and virtual concerts with informative lectures, fascinating program notes and festive receptions. We reach out to young singers to learn what it is to be a professional musician through our Wells Choral Scholar program and we engage young Conductors to hone their craft with our Mark and Randi Ravitts Woodworth Award for young conductors. Welcome to our website and read here about our upcoming musical offerings!
To Handel and his Music!

Andrew Major
The Handel Week family is thrilled to announce the addition of Andrew Major as conductor of Handel's Gloria as part of our concert one of our 2024 festival season! Andrew Major just completed a Doctorate in conducting at Northwestern University. He hails from Bozeman, MT and has a variety of ensembles and performances to his credit. He brings a young and energetic vitality to the podium and you will truly enjoy his leadership! This is an ongoing project of the Handel Week, Incorporated family. Each year we welcome a talented young conductor to lead a portion of a concert. The Gloria will be presented along with a performance of the complete Water Music under the baton of our founding Artistic Director, Dennis Northway. It will be a splendid afternoon!
